Sony’s Xperia Z2 flagship is finally reaching more countries around the globe and it’s soon to be available in the US. And while we know that the device will land sometime this summer, there’s no specific launch date as yet. Nevertheless, there are a few reliable places from where you can get the device early.
The Sony Xperia Z2 is currently available for purchase through GSM Nation in the US. The device is priced at $799 and Unwired View points out that it will work well with AT&T and T-Mobile networks. What’s more, the phone also supports 4G LTE. You’ll be able to reserve the phone on Negri Electronics, but for a slightly higher price of $827.50. Also, there’s no concrete information on when the retailer will have the handset in stock.
In other news, the Sony Xperia Z2 will be unveiled in India tomorrow. When it goes official stateside, the device will only be available through the company’s online store, unlocked and SIM-free. However, there seems to be a Verizon-specific model in the works. An image of the Sony Xperia Z2 with Verizon branding was spotted online, suggesting that the company could be working on a variant of its flagship for Big Red like the Z1S for T-Mobile.
Here are the specs of the Sony Xperia Z2:
– 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipset
– 5.2-inch 1080p full HD display
– 3GB RAM, 16GB internal storage
– Android 4.4 KitKat OS
– 3200mAh battery
– 20.7MP rear camera
– 2.2MP front snapper
You can expect the Sony Xperia Z2 to retail for around the same price as the imported models when it goes on sale in the US this summer.
