Sony Xperia sola unveiled, brings new floating touch feature

Sony Xperia Sola 1

The Sony Xperia sola will be spotted bringing in a new attribute referred to as floating touch by the company. This technology allows for simply hovering a finger over content to navigate the web, without users having to really touch the screen. A simple tap is required only when a selection is to be made.

The upcoming addition to the Xperia family dons a 3.7-inch Reality Display with Mobile Bravia engine and fits in a 1GHz dual core chip as well. Plus, seamless data sharing and app loading are made possible with the onboard Xperia SmartTags feature on this NFC enabled device. As for the audiophiles, there are the onboard xLOUD and 3D surround sound audio technology.

Calum MacDougall, Head of Xperia Marketing for Sony Mobile Communications, shares, “Xperia sola comes with the power of Sony and a sense of magic with floating touch, giving consumers a fun new way to browse the web and latest technology to show off. With Xperia SmartTags out of the box and access to the latest content through Sony Entertainment Network, Xperia sola is perfect for consumers looking for ease of use and the best in entertainment in a smart and innovative smartphone.”

Needless to say, entertainment buffs will have access to the Sony Entertainment Network for catching up on their preferred Hollywood movies and more. As many may expect, the handset brings in the taste of Gingerbread and will be upgradeable to Ice Cream Sandwich during summer this year, that’s after it hits store shelves.
