Besides the Duo 11 Ultrabook-tablet hybrid, the manufacturer in question has also released the Sony Vaio E Series and S Series price and release date information. It is expected to be made available towards the end of this month, that is after the official launch of the Windows 8 platform on October 26.
The E Series notebooks have been designed for casual users and students who seek an ‘excellent portable companion.’ They flaunt the company’s wraparound design and come in screen configurations of 11, 14, 15 and 17 inches. Additionally, a 14P laptop with a Vaio diamond cut logo and featuring a touchscreen, has been added to the range. The 17-inch E17 employs a quad core processor and a full HD display that renders visuals in 1920 x 1080p resolution. A backlit keyboard and the AMD Radeon GPUs have been deployed in the 14- and 15-inch variants.
Laptops belonging to the S Series of the Vaio range claim to offer stylish looks with improved performance. As these Windows 8-based notebooks are constructed using magnesium, aluminum and carbon fibers, users can expect the devices to be light in weight as well as durable enough to endure everyday wear and tear. A 13-inch burgundy red-colored version has been introduced along with 13.3-inch Premium and 15.5-inch models.
All the aforementioned Sony laptops are compatible with the latest Windows operating system. They are also pre-installed with Album and Music applications which can used to stream digital content on DLNA-enabled devices. The Socialife app can be downloaded through the Windows Store for keeping in touch with friends via social networking websites.
