The Sony Vaio Pro 13, Duo 13 and Fit 15 laptops have undergone some serious cosmetic changes to arrive in brand new attires dubbed red edition. This new special lineup is apparently the ‘ultimate expression’ of Sony craftsmanship and they each come with Core i7 processors from Intel as well as 1080p Full HD IPS Triluminos displays.
To design the red edition notebooks which feature the company’s signature finish, Sony has implemented a host of painting techniques that are applied to different materials such as carbon fiber and aluminum. After spraying on multiple layers of color, the application is then hand polished to deliver a glossy finish which is intensified by applying a durable protective UV coating. Apart from the luxury design, the Sony Vaio Pro 13, Duo 13 and Fit 15 notebooks are dressed with exclusive technologies from the company.
The Duo 13 has a slider design which makes it easy for users to flip between laptop and tablet modes. The Pro 13 on the other hand, has a conventional notebook form factor. However, they both have the same Core i7-4500U processor, 8GB of RAM, 512GB of storage and a host of connectivity options. The Fit 13 sports an i7-3537U CPU with 12GB of RAM. There’s also a 256GB SSD a GeForce GT 735M 2GB GPU and a Blu-ray drive. All models run on Windows 8.
The Sony Vaio red edition laptops look irresistible, but they don’t come cheap. You’d be paying $2,999.99 for the Duo 13, while the Pro 13 and Fit 15 notebooks will set you back by $2,599.99 and $1,999.99, respectively. The price includes 1-year of accidental damage protection.
