Update: The Sony Xperia E4 Dual has been officially launched in India at Rs 12490 and goes on sale from today.
The Sony Xperia E4 smartphone is the first from the Japanese company to offer Android 5.0 Lollipop and being an entry-level release, its quick arrival in India was expected. The handset is soon to go official in the country and the OEM has already started teasing its impending launch.
The official Sony Xperia India Twitter account hasn’t mentioned the Xperia E4 in its post, but the line ‘new power-packed phone features battery life that lasts for 2-days’ is a dead giveaway. Then there’s an image of the phone’s rear embedded into the tweet. The handset was launched earlier this year during the CES 2015 expo.
It’s a pretty good upgrade over its predecessor from 2014 and comes with great battery backup. A 2300mAh power pack in included here and it’s estimated to deliver around 12 hours and 43 minutes of talk time which is far better than what Lava’s low-end Iris Fuel smartphones can offer with larger batteries.
The Ultra STAMINA Mode also comes preloaded with the phone to further boost activity time. There are two versions of the Xperia E4, one offering a 1.3GHz quad core processor with HSPA+ and the other packing a faster 1.5GHz quad core chip with 4G LTE connectivity. However, it isn’t clear which model will be making its way into India.
