Ever since Sony displayed its inclination to tease the Honami Xperia Z1 or i1 on Twitter, we’ve been keeping an eye out for more clues. After yesterday’s teaser image of the phone’s power button, the company has pushed out yet another picture on the micro-blogging site. And we were shocked upon noting that the Honami will be waterproof…not.
The thing is, Sony has been churning one waterproof Xperia after another with so much enthusiasm lately, it would have been a departure from routine if the Honami didn’t have the same poolside party spirit. If previous rumors about it packing a 20MP 4K camera are to be believed, then users should be in for some awesome underwater photography sessions.
About to make a splash… #bestofSony pic.twitter.com/swkRqhCdsX

As you can see, the second Honami teaser includes the words ‘About to make a splash.’ There’s a flap covering the port sitting above the power button, while the audio jack is completely exposed. The lack of a flap is a welcome change from the Xperia Z we reviewed since there’s less danger of wear and tear setting in. It’d be great if Sony could also settle upon wireless charging so that it’s one less port cover needed.
There’s barely anything to chew on in terms of specifications. We’ve already reported the likelihood of a 20MP camera, quad core Snapdragon chip and Jelly Bean 4.3 elbowing their way into the specs sheet. If whispers are true, September 4 will be the day on which the Honami is launched.
