Nestle gets teasy, suggests Android KitKat and Nexus 5 launch date

Twitter is the prime medium for teasing big announcements these days, and if Nestle KitKat’s official account is to be peeped into, there seems to be a lot of hinting going around at the moment regarding the launch of the next Android OS. On the deciphering of messages from two of its tweets it can be observed that we might just get to see the next big version of Android and the complementary Nexus 5 device on October 28.

Pocket-Lint was first to take notice of these possibly cryptic tweets which can both be spotted in the space below. First among them reads, ‘Everybody dance now!’ and contains an image of the Android KitKat mascot breaking a leg (sort of).

Now, these words are actually from the song Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now) created by a band named C+C Music Factory. Further inspection into their name reveals that they were earlier called The 28th Street Crew. Thus the reference to the date.

Second among the two concerned tweets reads ‘Sometimes you have to look at the signs’ giving a definite allusion to the fact that something’s being teased. The accompanying picture shows a set of Kit Kats piled up to spell ‘This Is It.’ That’s the name of the Michael Jackson documentary which was released on October 28, 2009.

Much information about the next Android OS has been leaked ahead of its official unveiling. Prime among that is its ability to turn third party messaging apps into default apps. Moreover, the OS is also expected to feature fresh app icons and other interesting features. If all goes as is being expected, we’ll finally get to see the Nexus 5 as well as its accompanying Android 4.4 KitKat OS on October 28.
