RiffWare has come up with a solution to a problem that Americans often face. The problem of high mileage fees when the car that they lease goes over the stipulated miles. The Pasadena, California based company has introduced an application for Verizon Wireless mobile subscribers which can be used to track the miles they have covered on their leased car.
The people who lease trucks and cars must have witnessed that leasing companies charge around 10 to 25 cents per mile that goes over the limit. Like Riffware explains that if you cover just 2500 extra miles per year in the five-year lease, you may end up paying more than $3000 as penalties while returning the vehicle. ‘Miles To Go’, the latest application keeps the record of how may miles you have covered and how many are left to save you from the trouble of paying the exorbitant fee.
The application runs on the Verizon mobiles which can be downloaded for $2.99. It works by warning the drivers on their driving patterns that increases the miles to cover and bill to be paid. It thus helps drivers to curb the habit of driving in a wrong pattern and following the preset miles.
Rob Witman, CEO of RiffWare, says, “For today’s hard-working American families, every dollar counts. The reality, however, is that many people who lease fall into the trap of committing to yearly mileage constraints that are incompatible with day-to-day use of the vehicle. Miles To Go is a personal finance tool that takes the ‘guess work’ out of overages and gives drivers ample time to adjust their habits before it’s too late to do anything about it.”
Riffware LLC has always provided its “your life, to go” suite of mobile products for Verizon Wireless phone subscribers along with providing Life Management mobile phone services and BREW applications that package and format Web-based content onto phones. Earlier this year, Riffware launched an application that could help drivers use their mobile phones to track gas and maintenance information, increase vehicle efficiency and save money.
