PeopleSoft CRM 9.0 Version, supporting 19 New Web Services released by Oracle

Database management systems developer Oracle has announced the availability of PeopleSoft CRM 9.0, the next replication of its PeopleSoft Enterprise CRM application.

Oracle and Peoplesoft logos Oracle released PeopleSoft CRM 9.0 after they recently summarized its plans for the software in early July.

This is the first major update to this application suite since Oracle acquired the developers of this software suite.

The application is largely targeted at existing PeopleSoft CRM customers rather than potential new users, said John Webb, vice president of enterprise application strategy at Oracle.

This update bring tighter links to Oracle’s next-generation Fusion middleware, which is based on a services-oriented architecture (SOA), and modifications aimed at the financial services and communications industries.

PeopleSoft CRM 9.0 features new functionality specially developed for telecoms and financial services firms, the company said. This includes order and service management capabilities for mobile service providers; and pre-installed sample customer relationship management (CRM) processes for tasks such as account creation and lead and referral management.

It also incorporates new functionality to “streamline” the user experience, including a worklist, autosave for recent searches, better calendaring, and auto-population of commonly typed text using hot keys.

In addition, the update now also supports 19 new web services that make way for better integration with third-party software and other features such as the ability to convert a web page directly into a service.
