SiriusXM On Demand launched for web, iDevices

On Demand Radio Service

SiriusXM subscribers can now choose their favorite episodes from more than 200 shows, thanks to SiriusXM On Demand. The option has now been made available for those who listen to this internet radio service using the online media player or via the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

Existing subscribers will not have to shell out anything in order to take advantage of this new feature. Besides over 200 shows from genres like entertainment, music, comedy, sports and more, SiriusXM users can choose a program from its audio archives of 2000 hours as well. Additionally, the content for this service will be updated regularly, says the company.

“On Demand access to SiriusXM programming broadens the availability of our exclusive content, allowing subscribers to enjoy their favorite shows and try new shows on their own time so they never miss a minute of the programming they love. SiriusXM produces great original content, and we are thrilled we can now make so much of it available on our listeners’ schedules through SiriusXM On Demand,” stated Bob Law, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Streaming Services and Products, SiriusXM.

The music streaming service has also been bestowed with easier navigation attributes and it is now possible to jump to a specific point on a show. Moreover, the curated programs from the archives will be played with minimal commercials. iOS users can choose to save select programs on their native devices and listen to them even without an internet connection. Notifications for favorite programs will also be sent to the Apple gadgets.

Currently available for the web and Apple devices, SiriusXM On Demand will soon make its debut on the Android platform.
