Samsung recently showed off some innovative technology which will allow it to place cameras underneath the screen for a completely bezel-less display. The brand is now actually hinting at what this panel will look like.

As reported by SamMobile, Samsung recently held an event to launch the Galaxy A9s and Galaxy A6s in China. It decided to tease an upcoming device called the Galaxy A8s at the occasion too. Based on the image above, the smartphone looks like an uninterrupted block of glass without any notch.

This is pretty intriguing, although it remains to be seen what the actual product will look like when it releases. Even the Galaxy S10 is expected to feature the same borderless look. All-in-all, Samsung seems hell-bent on introducing its notchless phones everywhere next year.

Noted tipster Ice Universe had something interesting to say about the Galaxy A8s. According to him, the smartphone will have a hole drilled into the screen to insert the selfie camera. This makes things a bit less magical than the teaser above suggests. After all, a single lens will still be a significant interruption, especially if you’re watching a video or viewing a photo.

It’s possible this hole will disappear when there’s content on the screen and reappear when a selfie is being clicked. Making things a bit more mysterious is the fact that Ice Universe deleted this tweet and left a post about how the “Galaxy A8s is just the beginning of Samsung’s innovative technology next year.”

We’re not sure what to make of this, but something is definitely afoot at Samsung. Other than its borderless phones, the handset maker is set to release foldable phones, laptops, and tablets in the near future.
