Samsung Gear 360 finally has its price revealed

Gear 360

2016 is the year of virtual reality, and products like the Samsung Gear 360 are bound to create buzz as well, for they allow anyone to create VR content on their own. This device was unveiled by the South Korean company during its S7 launch earlier this year, but it had not slapped a price tag against it back then.

However, we now know that the Samsung Gear 360 can be yours at $350. This is based on a listing that’s currently live, but the gadget still cannot be bought for some reason.

With its two advanced cameras, the Samsung Gear 360 allows you to capture 360-degree photographs or videos. These can then either be uploaded to platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Google Street View and more, or be watched via virtual reality headsets like the Gear VR.

Samsung it seems has failed at giving this product a competitive price tag though. That’s because its fierce rival LG also has a similar product on offer in the form of the LG 360 Cam which costs just $200.

The Gear 360 features two 15MP CMOS sensors and bears ultra wide-angle f/2.0 lenses that make 360-degree images possible. You can capture 30MP still images and 3840 x 1920 pixel videos at 30fps, in dual lens mode which is commendable to say the least.

This new and interesting Samsung device not only features support for Bluetooth, but it also kicks in built-in Wi-Fi and NFC compatibility. It moreover, has its own microSD card slot which supports cards of up to 128GB in capacity.

B&H Photo Video has the Samsung Gear 360 listed at $350, but the said website does not seem to have the gadget in stock right now.
