Now that the Samsung Galaxy Y Duos Lite India release date details have surfaced online, the company’s ‘Young’ series is soon to witness the arrival of an all-new dual-SIM member to its present lineup. The device is currently up for pre-order with no official mention of a price. However, for an advance payment of Rs. 1000, interested buyers can set aside a unit for themselves.
Where specifications matter, the newly unveiled device isn’t all that different from the dual-SIM Y Duos and the only noteworthy improvement here is 4GB of built-in storage compared to the 160MB on the latter. The company has cut down the display size from the 3.14-inch one found on its predecessor, to a QVGA 240 x 320p touchscreen spanning 2.8-inches wide. The processor fitted in this handset is clocked at 832MHz to carry out the load.
The device is designed with a rounded form factor for a comfortable grip. Measuring 11.9mm in thickness, it arrives packed with a microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB, a 2MP primary camera and a 1200mAh battery that can deliver around 920 minutes of talktime or 410 hours of standby. The Android Gingerbread OS is employed here with a taste of the Samsung TouchWiz UI. With dual-SIM support, users can throw in 2 HSPA enabled cards for accessing the web, downloading content and other cellular services.
