Samsung’s big March 29 event is just a few days away, finally ending the deluge of Galaxy S8 leaks that have been flowing in non-stop for quite a while now. The latest such leak reveals pretty much everything there is to know about the handset, uncovering a trove of official-looking renders and specs.
If accurate, the images confirm most of the rumors surrounding the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. They show off both variants from all angles, offering a good look at the all-new nearly bezel-less screen. The change is pretty striking at first glance, eliminating the home button to make more room for the display.
The photos also serve to verify that the Galaxy S8 will be sold in black, gray, silver, and blue colors. One picture in particular depicts a woman unlocking the device with her eyes, bearing out talk that the phone would feature an iris scanner on its front surface. Another promotes its IP68-rated resistance against water.
WinFuture has some specs handy as well, asserting that Samsung is going with a 12MP primary camera accompanied by PDAF, laser autofocus, an aperture of f/1.7, and OIS. An 8MP secondary snapper may carry out selfie duties fortified with the same f/1.7 aperture.
Other rumored specs include a 2960 x 1440p resolution, 5.8-inch (S8) and 6.2-inch (S8 Plus) panels, 64GB of expandable ROM, an Exynos 8895 processor, a Snapdragon 835 SoC, 3000mAh (S8) and 3500mAh (S8 Plus) batteries, and USB Type-C support.
Interestingly, Samsung seems to be working on a new service called Guard S8 which promises things like a one-time screen replacement and remote support. The brand might price the Galaxy S8 starting at EUR 799 (roughly $868 or Rs 56500) and the Plus model at EUR 899 (approx $976 or Rs 63500).
