A fresh set of leaks have revealed a number of details about the Samsung Galaxy S7 ahead of its future unveiling. While earlier speculation had already uncovered quite a few specs of the phone, these new rumors bring some live images, an employee’s testimony and a specific release date to light.
Kicking things off with the photos, one snap is supposedly showcasing the front camera units which will be carried by the Samsung Galaxy S7. The picture looks like it’s been taken from the production line for the handset. The board has been branded with the model name SM-G930F, the smartphone’s internal alias.
The title also features the term R05, which could be referring to revision number 5 of the module. GSM Arena also points out that this shooter has its connector to one side instead of in the center like the Samsung Galaxy S6. The other live image is of the device itself. However, it’s clearly the developer version of the handset.
A sticker on top hides the name of the brand, although, its distinctive home button and capacitive key markings evidently point towards it being a Samsung offering. Moving on to the next bit of speculation, a person who asserts to be working for the company claims all the versions of the Galaxy S7 will be fitted with a black chassis to lend the series a premium look.
To recall, the upcoming Galaxy S7 is reportedly going to house a 12MP main camera instead of the 16MP one carried by its previous variant. The employee says the shift has occurred due to the manufacturer changing gears towards sensor size and capacity instead of pixel count. It’s apparently going to tout the phone’s abilities to click clear photos at night.
This has been achieving thanks to an aperture of f/1.7 and the utilization of dual-pixel autofocus. The latter is akin to what Canon uses for its DSLR cameras and helps reduce noise and increase color vibrancy. In good news for people who had disliked the bump found on the back of the S6, Samsung is reportedly getting rid of that for the new smartphone.

As per Phone Arena, the Galaxy S7 is set to be dust-tight and waterproof. It could come with a better battery capacity and feature a hybrid dual-SIM slot which also functions as a microSD card slot, bringing back the sorely missed component which had appeared in previous entries in the series.
Finally, serial leakster Evan Blass asserts the Samsung Galaxy S7 will be released in the US on March 11. This falls in line with the February 21 launch date which has been reported before.
