Samsung has finally made an official announcement about the Galaxy S7, putting an end to months of speculation and rumors. The brand has sent out press invites for its Unpacked event taking place on February 21, a day before the deluge of the Mobile World Congress begins in Barcelona, Spain.
No surprises there, considering Samsung has been following this pattern for the previous 2 Galaxy models as well. It should be noted that the invites don’t specifically name the S7 as the handset getting released on February 21. It simply depicts a black cube with a blue light projecting what appears to be the number 7.
Interestingly, the blue and black color scheme seems to match the most recent set of Galaxy S7 images which had gotten leaked just last week. Other than the invites, the manufacturer has also posted a teaser for the upcoming phone. As can be expected of such a video, it doesn’t give away much in terms of specs.

However, it does reveal that Samsung is planning to integrate some kind of virtual reality features with the future flagship device. The video shows a man putting on a VR headset and viewing the same black box which was mentioned above through it. Previous Galaxy models had also supported this function with the help of the Gear VR.
Virtual reality has been getting a big boost recently, with even Lenovo deciding to package its K4 Note with a pair of AntVR goggles. We’ll just have to wait and see what Samsung has in store for us come February 21. We’ll keep you up-to-date with any major news regarding the Galaxy S7 till then.
