Samsung Galaxy S7 delivers mind-blowing benchmark score

Those looking forward to the Samsung Galaxy S7 will be shocked to know that it has just been found to have set a benchmark record with its new processor. This benchmark applies to a model codenamed SM-G9300, and shows it to run the Exynos 8890 which was unveiled only a few days back by the South Korean company.

A mind-blowing score of 103692 has been grabbed by the supposed Samsung Galaxy S7 model on AnTuTu. For comparison, the latest high-end chip from Huawei, named Kirin 950 had recently managed to grab 65179 points. This gives us a clear idea of what the Exynos 8890 is capable of.

The benchmark was first spotted by Mobipicker. The Exynos 8890 chipset is expected to form part of the Galaxy S7 only in some markets, while in other territories the phone will be opting for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC. Based on prior leaks, it has been learned that the device will opt for a 5.2-inch display.

The resolution could very well stay put at Quad HD, but this panel is likely to have one more attraction under its belt. Seeing Apple’s innovation with the 3D Touch technology, Samsung too is expected to adopt a similar functionality, granting a pressure-sensitive layer to the panel.

Its body will apparently be built using magnesium alloy to give it some extra toughness. The Galaxy S7 however, will indeed feature a glass panel on its rear surface, just like its predecessor. It might actually step out of the megapixel race like Apple and Google by opting for a 12MP rear camera bearing a highly advanced 1/2-inch sensor.
