Samsung Galaxy S5 teaser gets serious, showcases possible TouchWiz icons

We’re on the verge of getting a first glimpse of the Samsung Galaxy S5, and its maker has now started issuing teases to ignite some sparks in the atmosphere. A newly released invitation to the unveiling event of the smartphone has hinted towards a redesign of the icons employed by the TouchWiz user interface.

What’s the teaser?
The South Korean giant is overplaying the theme of ‘5,’ with its latest ploy being superscripting the digit to almost every word on its invitation. As can be seen in the image below, the circular icons are accompanied by 9 symbols suggesting the various aspects which the upcoming phone will be exploring.

The icons also suggest that the new TouchWiz user interface, the home screen of which we’ve already witnessed, might grab hold of these kinds of simple and lighter icons for its apps. Other things worth highlighting are the Outdoor and Fitness icons, which indicate that these two things could very well form a big part of the Samsung Galaxy S5’s ecosystem. The Privacy icon could be hinting towards a fingerprint scanner that can possibly make its way onto the device.

What’s being said about the smartphone
Reports have told us in the past that the device could be made available in two different versions. A European variant will apparently offer a 1080p display and an octa core Exynos 5422 SoC, whereas the US version will feature a 2K panel and a Snapdragon 800 chipset. Android KitKat, 16MP rear camera, 2GB worth of RAM and other specs will apparently remain common among both.

Leaks about the Samsung Galaxy S5 keep surfacing from time to time, so stay tuned for more.
