Samsung Galaxy S5 down to Rs 46K in India as HTC One M8 goes official

So HTC officially launched the One M8 in India today for Rs 49,400 which makes it a bit cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S5. But guess what? The South Korean conglomerate’s flagship has been given a pretty good price cut and it’s now available in the county for Rs 46,831, that’s Rs 4,669 cheaper.

Now, just so you know, the reduction in cost hasn’t been officially applied by Samsung and the company’s eStore is still selling the Galaxy S5 at Rs 51,500. The aforementioned amount can be found on Flipkart. Online retailers are known for offering devices at cheaper prices, so we’re not surprised to see the flagship phone get discounted so quickly. And the customer ratings as well as comments, which are mostly negative, probably promoted the price drop at WS Retail as other sellers on the site still have the phone listed at higher prices.

Samsung Galaxy S5

The Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with some pretty great features and it has also dropped a lot of excessive clutter which resulted in slow performance in the S4. The version in India has an Exynos 5 Octa processor with HSPA+ support, while other specs remain the same as the 4G LTE model. You get a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED 1080p display, 2GB of RAM and a pretty great 16MP rear camera. Other interesting features include a heart rate monitor and a fingerprint reader.

If you’re planning to pick up the Samsung Galaxy S5, we’d suggest giving our review a quick read. The Flipkart listing has the phone in white only.
