Samsung Galaxy S4 mini spotted in leaked images

Galaxy S4

Is it any surprise that the S4 mini has been spotted online in leaked images? According to the leak Samsung downsized the GS3, stripping away 0.7 diagonal inches of screen. But even if the S4’s feature list seemed too impressive to distil, memory should serve that we reported about top secret Project J, which was supposed to encompass more than one device.

The S4 mini was part of said project which we first heard about back in February. And now, as then, SamMobile is reporting that the tinier handset is part of the company’s plans. It says that a follower on Twitter who goes by the handle @ErmEchkiN has sent the website information on the gadget in question, which supposedly goes by the moniker GT-I9190.

Model Number GT-I9190

So from what we know, this miniature version of the newly announced flagship handset from the South Korean manufacturer will have a 4.3-inch display of the Super AMOLED type. In terms of screen size, that’s almost as much as the S3 was cut down. This panel is also speculated to throw out images and videos at a 256ppi pixel density and at a qHD resolution.

But the talk doesn’t end there. A processor has been pegged down, unofficially of course. It is said the mini will come with a dual core CPU running at a clock speed of 1.6GHz, although the exact make of the chip hasn’t been specified. Lastly, what we ‘know’ of the device is that it will run on Android Jelly Bean (version 4.2.2), which, should make it very appealing indeed.

Unknown Device

But that’s all well and good. The main aspect not spoken of is what will happen on the impressive array of software features on the GS4. Nothing is known about whether this smaller version will have any of the attributes such as the dual camera mode and the S Translator, dual video call functionality, as well as the company’s Smart Pause, Smart Scroll and Air Gesture.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 mini has even been given a release window and is expected to launch either in June or July this year. But as with most rumors, we’re not really sure how much of this information we can digest.

Take a look at the device’s rumored specifications.

– Android Jelly Bean (4.2.2) OS
– 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD display
– 256ppi pixel density
– 1.6GHz dual core CPU
