The Samsung Galaxy S4 has landed on two more US carriers, namely MetroPCS and C Spire, and while a retail price has been slated out, both handsets are available for purchase. Apart from the original, Samsung has three more variants of its flagship which go by Active, mini and Zoom monikers, each designed for specific segments and at different price points.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 was also launched in an LTE Advanced variant which packs in a beefier Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with a 2.3GHz clock speed. Rest of the specifications remains the same as the original version. And then there’s the Google Play edition which delivers a stock flavored Android experience sans any TouchWiz enhancements.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 headed to MetroPCS and C Spire are 4G LTE enabled which means, it comes with a 1.9GHz quad core Snapdragon 600 processor instead of the company’s homebrewed Exynos 5 Octa platform. The chipset is accompanied by 2GB of RAM and Adreno 320 graphics. Sitting pretty on the front is a 5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED HD touchscreen and a 2MP webcam. Flip over to the rear and buyers will notice a 13MP camera and an LED flash.

At 7.9mm think, the handset is amongst the slimmest smartphones there is. Also, it features a 2600mAh lithium-ion battery which delivers long activity times of 17 hours in talktime or 10 hours of web browsing over Wi-Fi. The Android 4.2.2 OS is preloaded on the handset with various attributes such as Smart Pause, Air View, Group Play and Safe amongst others.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is currently available through MetroPCS in select markets and it can be purchased for $549 plus tax with no-annual-contract 4G plans that start at $40 per month for unlimited data, talk and text. Where the C Spire version is concerned, the smartphone carries a price of $199.99 after signing up for a new 2-year contract. It is up for grabs through the carrier’s website in black and white options.
