We’re just a few days away from the official unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S4 which is scheduled to take place this Thursday in New York. And amongst the many rumors as well as leaks going about, the company has decided to throw a little more spice into the excitement by publishing a teaser image that’s purportedly of the device in question.
The picture was posted online through the South Korean conglomerate’s official Twitter and Facebook accounts in a similar manner when the BlackBerry Z10 hardware was flaunted. A caption accompanying the image states, ‘The countdown for The Next Big Thing has begun.’ Based on the render, we suspect the S4 to be somewhat like its predecessor, design-wise. The handset will flaunt curved edges with a metal bezel running alongside the sides with what appears to be the volume keys on the left.
Additionally, the company has uploaded a new teaser video on its official YouTube account. It was just yesterday that we reported about the handset’s possibly leaked renders. The images were uploaded to a Chinese forum, but reports state that they could be of a prototype. Based on the latest rumors, it doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing the device launch with the S Pen. But the company does seem to have quite some interesting features to offer.
As per what we’ve heard, the TouchWiz interface is likely be coated over the Android 4.2 OS. Dubbed as Nature UI 2.0, the UX will comprise of attributes such as Eye Pause and Eye Scroll. The phone should come with a 5-inch 1080p display to keep up with the latest trends and will be powered by the Exynos 5 Octa 5410 SOC that houses a quad core A7 and a quad core A15 under one roof. The CPU’s clock speed will be set at 1.8GHz. While PowerVR SGX 544MP graphics and 2GB of RAM assist the processor in operations, a 13MP rear-facing camera will allow users to click pictures and record videos.
By the looks of things, the Mobile Unpacked 2013 Episode 1 event which will supposedly be circulating around the Samsung Galaxy 4 is just the start. It’s anyone’s guess as to what the company has in store for episode 2 and possible the ones to follow.
