The Samsung Galaxy S4 has been rolled out in a Crystal Edition almost a month after the S3 mini arrived in its glittering avatar. And yet again, this Swarovski crystal studded smartphone is not likely to hit most markets across the globe. It’s only been seen in Thailand so far for a price of 20,300 baht, that’s roughly $630.
Just for comparison’s sake, the regular version of the Galaxy S4 costs 17,400 baht, or $540, in the country. GSMArena says that the embellished device is only being made in limited numbers of 3,500 units. Samsung has done something similar in the past with previous smartphones like the Galaxy S2 too.
If you place the two most recent versions of the shimmering Samsung handsets, then the Galaxy S4 (first picture) definitely got the better deal in terms of design. Remember how we had complained about S3 mini’s pattern appearing minimal to the point of being absurdly plain for a special edition phone?
Apart from the aforesaid variants, the South Korean company was also supposed to be releasing a La Fleur edition Galaxy S4 mini. We’ve yet to hear anything official about it though. Well, there’s still time for the Samsung to launch it if it’s aiming for Christmas shoppers.
While we’re talking about Galaxy smartphones with interesting exteriors, let’s not forget the Galaxy Note 3 which has been given three new shades of red, rose gold with white and rose gold with black. This is in addition to the black, pink and white versions that are already out.
