Samsung Galaxy S10+ to pack 4000mAh battery, 93.4% screen ratio

The Samsung Galaxy S10 is building up a lot of hype online, with many folks excited about a bezel-less screen sans the infamous notch. A new report has some more insider information about the device and what changes we should expect.

According to AllAboutSamsung, the Galaxy S10 will have a 93.4% screen-to-body ratio. That’s pretty impressive for a phone in this day and age. As a comparison, the Galaxy S9 has a screen-to-body ratio of 83.6% only. That’s a huge 10% difference between generations.

Samsung Hides Selfie Camera

Samsung might be pulling this off by hiding the selfie camera underneath the display. Some say it’ll be visible when you’re clicking a photo and disappear when there’s content on the screen. It’ll be a big win for the company if it manages to bring this about. Right now, the only truly borderless phones like the Oppo Find X and Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 have moving cameras.

Not all consumers are comfortable with their front-facing lens being placed on a mechanism, especially since those have a limited lifespan and could be prone to breakage. The report also had some claims to make about the Galaxy S10+’ battery.

It seems Samsung might be thinking of placing a 4000mAh battery inside its flagship phone. The Galaxy S9+ has a 3500mAh unit, so that’s quite a sizable jump. The increase makes sense since there’ll probably be more demands on power if the rumors of a 5G version of the handset are true.

Plus, the expected 7nm Snapdragon 8150/Exynos 9820 processor and under-display fingerprint scanner will place further demands on the battery. On the outside, the Galaxy S10 might get outfitted in yellow, green, red, blue, grey, and black. OnLeaks claims these have been locked as the final options.
