The much sought after Samsung Galaxy S III will drop anchor in the UK earlier than anticipated as the Korea based OEM has decided to start dispatching it on May 29 to those who pre-order from the Samsung store in Westfield Stratford City in London. The offer is valid only for users who reserve their Galaxy smartphones before 6pm on May 29.
The device will not be put up for sale on May 29 through the store and the company will only fulfill pre-orders made a day earlier than the date of launch. Those who have ordered it online or through other retailers will have to wait until the official release date to lay their hands on this slice of Ice Cream Sandwich. Samsung has also stated that it is giving individual retailers an option to begin shipping the phone from 7pm on May 29, if they so wish.
“We’ve had an overwhelming response from our retail partners and customers alike since announcing the Galaxy S III on 3 May. So we wanted to delight our customers and reward them for pre-ordering by letting them get their hands on the device a day before anyone else. We believe we have created our best smartphone yet, designed specifically with daily human needs in mind, and we are proud to provide our customers with a truly unique mobile user experience,” quoted Simon Stanford, Vice President, Telecommunications and Networks, Samsung UK and Ireland.
The sleek Samsung Galaxy S III flaunts a 1280 x 720p 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED touchscreen, a 1.9MP camera and an 8MP imager. It is powered by the quad core 1.4GHz Samsung Exynos Quad processor and boasts of features such as S Voice, Smart Stay and many more. Additionally, it lends support to a microSD card of up to 64GB capacity.
The Samsung Galaxy S III will be available for purchase through authorized dealers from May 30 in the UK.
