Samsung unveiled its crazy quad-camera Galaxy A9 (2018) last month to mixed reactions. It’s now testing the waters in India by bringing the device to the country and slapping a Rs 36990 price tag on it.
That’s the rate you’ll have to pay for the 6GB RAM variant. There’s also an 8GB RAM version which costs Rs 39990. At these figures, the Galaxy A9 (2018) will be competing with the OnePlus 6T in India which starts at Rs 37999. The OnePlus handset has an in-display fingerprint scanner as its trump card, while the Samsung device has 4 rear cameras.

Breaking the photography setup down, you’ll find a 24MP main lens, a 5MP depth lens, an 8MP 120-degree ultra-wide lens, and a 10MP telephoto lens. The Galaxy A9 (2018) utilizes pixel binning tech to merge four pixels into one. The depth sensor helps blur backgrounds to keep the subject in focus, while the telephoto sensor offers up to 2x optical zoom.
There’s also a 24MP shooter at the front to click selfies and unlock the handset, making for a grand total of 5 cameras at the front and back. Samsung claims its low-light technology helps boost brightness while decreasing noise. Selfie Focus offers the same bokeh effect as the rear cameras, without the help of a dedicated depth sensor.
