Samsung’s foldable phone is becoming less and less of a mystery as the days go by. It’s all set to make its debut on November 7 at the brand’s annual developer conference in San Francisco. It’s been suggested that this will be a soft launch where only concept images will be shown off, leaving the rumor mills to fill in the blanks.

SamMobile is out with a new report claiming that Samsung is going to release the flexible smartphone as part of a new Galaxy F series. Talk about an F-themed lineup stretches back to 2013. The phones may finally show up in 2018 with a foldable design, but there’s a chance it could be the name of a new gaming series.

Samsung Galaxy F Gets Tested

Assuming the Galaxy F really is the bendable Samsung device we’ve all been waiting for, the SM-F900U might be the first product we’ll see. The company is apparently testing firmware version F900USQU0ARJ5 for the handset in the US on all notable mobile networks. It seems it was developed in the country itself.

This actually ties in with another recent rumor – that Google is collaborating with Samsung to put together a special version of Android just for its foldable device. The new report further alleges that the handset will pack an impressive 512GB of space and support dual SIMs.

It seems Samsung is also testing firmware for the Asian and European versions of the Galaxy F dubbed SM-F900F and SM-F900N, respectively. This goes to show the bendy phone won’t be restricted to the US as some have feared. Even the brand confirmed this recently, but it’s nice to have additional proof.

Meanwhile, Korean site The Bell says the foldable smartphone has a 7.29-inch display when it’s open and a 4.58-inch one when it’s closed. Mass production is set to begin this month at 100000 units per month. This goes against another article which asserted that Samsung hadn’t even decided what design it should go for.
