Looks like it’s time for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge to land on Indian turf, and March 8 may very well be the date on which that will happen. It’s being said that the South Korean giant will be holding an event on the said date, to reveal the exact price and release date details of the two highly anticipated handsets.
What’s even more exciting is the speculation that Samsung is looking to offer the Galaxy S7 at a starting price of just Rs 45000. That’s an incredibly competitive pricing strategy, and would indeed help the devices compete better with other biggies in the market.
All this information has been grabbed by The Economic Times through industry executives, and nothing is official at the moment. The publication has also learned that Samsung is planning on investing a whopping Rs 100 crores on marketing its two new offerings in India.

If rumblings in the smartphone industry are to be believed then Apple has already started feeling the heat of the Galaxy S7 launch. The company has for the first time set aside a counter-marketing budget of around Rs 30 to 40 crores, apparently.
What remains to be seen now is what models of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will be making their way in India next week. As you might know, some variants have been equipped with Samsung’s very own Exynos 8890 chipsets, while some have adopted Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 SoCs.
