The price in the UK for the Samsung Ativ Tab which is the South Korean conglomerate’s first Windows RT tablet, is now out in the open. The device has hit availability status in the country along with the highly anticipated Ativ S smartphone which runs on the Windows Phone 8 platform.
The Ativ Tab joins the company’s lineup of slates such as the Smart PC and the Smart PC Pro which operate on the Windows 8 OS. Here, a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, possibly the S4, is employed featuring dual core and a 1.5GHz clock speed to power up the platform. 2GB of RAM earns its place alongside the SOC for smooth multitasking and running demanding applications. Visuals are delivered through a 10.1-inch HD touchscreen and there’s also a 1.9MP VT camera fitted onto the front for video conferencing. The rear side houses a 5MP AF shooter with an LED flash.
Additionally, for a full PC like experience, users will be able to hook up various peripherals such as printers, a mouse, a keyboard and much more, through the included USB port. And to provide enhanced productivity, the company has thrown in the latest version of Microsoft Office comprising of Word, Excel, PPT and OneNote tools. The movie playback time achievable here through the 8200mAh battery amounts up to 12 hours.
The Samsung Ativ Tab is available for purchase in the UK. The Wi-Fi version can be picked up for £549.99 with 32GB of storage through Expansys or for £569.99 via eBay, while Clove will be offering it for £538.80 after taxes starting tomorrow. The second retailer has put the 16GB and 64GB variants up for pre-order, although the cost details haven’t been mentioned as yet.
