Samsung may have accidentally let the cat out of the bag when it comes to the brand’s next Galaxy S8. The tech major has released two ads in South Korea showing off its advanced new AMOLED displays. The promos feature a phone that looks suspiciously like the flagship device.
Of course, there’s no way to know for certain if the smartphone in the ads is indeed the Galaxy S8 since there’s no verified image of the latter out yet. However, the former does strongly resemble renders and live photos of the handset which have gotten leaked so far.
For one, the device in the ads sports a very thin bezel design. The panel appears to be taking up much of the front surface’s real estate, resulting in a very high screen-to-body ratio. This style seems to have resulted in the physical home button getting banished. This is vital since the Galaxy S8 is widely expected to be the first Galaxy phone to go without the component.

Previous rumors have hinted that Samsung is going to push the fingerprint sensor below the glass. The company’s top-notch AMOLED panels will likely find their way to the upcoming device, leading more credence to the theory that the mysterious smartphone is indeed the Galaxy S8 or at least a prototype which might resemble the finished product.
The handset in the ads notably has a 3.5mm headphone jack. While earlier speculation had hinted that Samsung was going to drop the port, recent leaks suggest otherwise. The Galaxy S8 might be shown off at the MWC this year followed by an April release. We’ll fill you in on the offering as and when more information drops in.
