Roxio Easy VHS to DVD for Mac now available

Scared of losing all those memories stored in the old VHS? Fret not, Roxio now offers a solution to that apprehension with the Easy VHS to DVD for Mac. This amalgamation of software and hardware enables users to convert and transfer video and data stored on the VHS tape to DVD in a hassle-free manner.

Customers have to connect the USB video capture device to their high-speed USB 2.0 port. It then captures any analog video source needed to be transferred. Full-resolution DVD recording from VCRs, VCR/DVD combo players and analog camcorders like V8 and Hi8 models are done through S-Video and composite-video input cables. The video files and data are now ready to be recorded to DVD. It also comes complete with chaptering and a custom menu background. This is done directly by exporting it to iMovie for editing or using the included special version of Roxio Toast.

“Whether it is weddings, baby’s first steps, reunions, or other irreplaceable family memories, it is only a matter of time before the aging footage stored on analog video tape is lost forever. We’ve introduced Roxio Easy VHS to DVD for Mac, to make it extremely easy for families to revive and rediscover memorable family milestones and preserve them for generations to come,” explains Vito Salvaggio, vice president of consumer products, Roxio.

Customers are easily guided through the necessary steps needed to capture analog recordings with the devices’ software. It comes complete with illustrated directions and prompting. Before capturing, customers can preview the audio and video data. By setting a predefined recording length, users can leave the process without supervising it.

After the copying is done, customers can then send the video to iMovie or Toast. Once in Toast, consumers can make VCDs, DVDs and even SVCDs. These can be customized with menu styles that have a professional touch to them. With Toast, many recordings can be compiled together on one disc or copies can be made of a previously created DVD. Through the iMovie, videos can further be edited and can be played back on a host of mobile devices like the iPhone and iPod. It can also be posted or shared through social networking sites and online services.

Roxio Easy VHS to DVD for Mac is available for a price of $79.99.
