Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of this year’s most anticipated games, and it has just been blessed with a fresh trailer that reveals several details. Scheduled to release for the PS4 and the Xbox One on October 26, it will act as a prequel to the previous title.
One of the most glaring pieces of information to come out of this trailer is the presence of the previous game’s protagonist in it. John Marston can clearly be seen being strangled by someone in one of the shots. The original Red Dead Redemption character is instantly recognizable due to the scars on his face.

And the scars look quite fresh in this trailer video, which means we might get an insight into how he got them. Red Dead Redemption 2 will have its story take place in 1899, which is 12 years before the events portrayed in the first game.

The protagonist in this one is Arthur Morgan, an outlaw and a member of the Van der Linde gang. Set during the final years of the American Old West, it chronicles the phase that heralded the extinction of the age of outlaws and gunslingers. The game has been confirmed to feature a multiplayer mode, apart from a single-player campaign of course.
A few more characters from the previous game will also be seen in this one. These include Bill Williamson, Javier Escuella and of course, Dutch van der Linde himself, who is the leader of the gang.
Like we said, October 26 is the date on which Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released for the PS4 and the Xbox One. The first game never made its way to PC, so there’s quite a bit of suspense surrounding this one’s PC fate as well.
