Reliance Communications has introduced ‘a revolutionary way to buy’ the iPhone 5C and the iPhone 5S in India and is offering both gadgets for zero down payment starting today. Actually, the company has decided to sell the phone on a contract basis wherein, you are required to pay equal monthly installments for a period of two years.
The zero down payment option is only available on the 16GB versions of these handsets. The EMI for the iPhone 5C stands at Rs 2,599 and the down payment for the 32GB device is Rs 11,600. Similarly, for the 5S you will have to pay Rs 2,999 per month for two years and the upfront costs for the 32GB and 64GB models are Rs 10,992 and Rs 19,992, respectively.
But that’s not all. Another advantage for Reliance GSM customers is that they get unlimited local, STD and roaming calls and messages and unlimited 3G data for the aforementioned price. The EMI includes the handset cost as well as usage charges and the carrier will not be sending you bills until the contract period is up.
This is the first time that a company has decided to adopt this method in India and we will have to wait for people’s reaction to see how it is accepted. But as all costs are included in the EMI, it does come across as an offer worth considering.
The iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C can now be purchased with a two-year customer agreement through Reliance Communications in India.
