Leaked last week, Rage 2 has finally been unveiled by Bethesda along with a trailer. There’s no release date information however, but we can expect it to arrive sometime during the sprint of 2019. Which is something we’d take a grain of salt, given how often big games get delayed these days.
Watching the Rage 2 trailer will definitely give you the Mad Max vibe, since the series has taken quite some inspiration from George ____’s popular series of films. Mohawks, improvised vehicles, vast desert landscapes and offhand weapons are all present in the trailer to keep this spirit alive.
Of course, we can expect a much bigger open world than the one we were offered in the previous entry to the first-person shooter series. Bethesda will be acting as a publisher for this title, and we can definitely expect some fresh details regarding Rage 2 from its E3 showcase on June 10.
From what we do know so far, players will be stepping into the shoes of Walker who is being described as ‘the last Ranger of the wasteland and a threat to their power.’ There will be ‘sadistic gangs’ to battle and lots of ‘tools and tech needed to crush the oppressive rule of The Authority once and for all.’
Just Cause and Mad Max creator Avalanche Studios is helming the development of this title. Till a point in 2012, id Software, the developer of the first Rage game was rumored to be behind the sequel as well. However, Bethesda had reportedly ordered their creative talents to be steered towards Doom.
But what matters now is that Rage 2 is real, and we will definitely get to hear more about it during E3. So stay tuned for that.
