The Sony Xperia Z2 is out in Europe now, but is still to make its way into major markets like the US and even India. While nothing can be said about the former, we have word that the power-packed waterproof and dust resistant smartphone will be making its way into India on May 8.
As is being reported by The Economic Times, invitations for a grand gala on this date are being sent out by Sony to the press. Although that’s the date when it could be unveiled for the country, there’s no word as to when it will actually hit markets. Another main point of interest moreover, is its price which can be anything around the Rs 50,000 mark.
This Android KitKat-based smartphone is highlighted by its 5.2-inch 1080p full HD display. The Xperia Z2 even grabs a 20.7MP rear camera which is fit for high-resolution photographs as well as sharp 4K videos. Its operations are handled by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC bearing a quad core 2.3GHz CPU. Other than that, the device also features 3GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and microSD support.
When it’s launched in India, the Sony Xperia Z2 will be joining the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the HTC One M8 in the competition of high-end flagships. Let us see how the contest goes.
