Introduced back in October last year, the Porsche Design BlackBerry P’9981 has geared up to take markets of Singapore by storm. A hand-wrapped leather back cover, a sculpted QWERTY keypad on the forged stainless steel frame and a touch display to go with it are just some of the many features that sets it apart from the crowd.
Besides the luxurious design, the phone boasts of an exclusive PIN and Porsche Design user interface especially developed for the smartphone in question. It has also been loaded with the Wikitude World Browser augmented reality app. Besides an eye-pleasing appearance, the device claims to have a performance-oriented internal system. Its 1.2GHz processor works towards offering faster response, while the Liquid Graphics technology has been utilized to enhance the visual performance of this handset.

And the brand new P’9981 smartphone is a milestone product for Porsche Design,” stated Dr. Juergen Gessler, CEO of the Porsche Design Group. “It is a representation of the iconic Porsche Design styling philosophy and RIM’s technology-driven focus, which combine to deliver engineered luxury and powered performance in a smartphone for the discerning consumer.”
The NFC enabled P’9981 ships with 8GB onboard memory and an expansion slot for a microSD card of up to 32GB capacity. Running the BlackBerry 7 OS, this device is complete with messaging, email and social attributes. The next generation BlackBerry browser should bestow the phone with faster web browsing capabilities. Moreover, it records high definition videos using the built-in camera too.
The Porsche Design BlackBerry P’9981 price has not been given a mention and it will be made available through Porsche Design stores and other authorized resellers in Singapore.
