Finally, the much-awaited Plants vs. Zombies 2 has been announced and the game is now available for iOS-based gadgets like iPhone, iPad and iPod touch through the Apple App Store. But the guys over at PopCap have not said anything about this version’s arrival on other mobile platforms like Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry as yet. Nevertheless, a blog post on the official website reveals that it will be released for a horde of other devices by the end of this year.
According to the developers, Plants vs. Zombies 2 is a ‘transcendent and heart-rending’ action-strategy adventure game which is a story of a man who sets out in search of a taco, but finds undead creatures instead. It takes you to ancient Egypt, pirate seas or to the Wild West with Crazy Dave and requires you to tackle new types of zombies attacking your house using your botanical brigade. And what’s more, to stop these zombies from eating your brains, you can now use more powerful plants such as Bloomerang, Lightning Reed and B**k Choy amongst a horde of others.
Some new challenges have been added to make the game all the more interesting and players will obviously receive power-ups as they progress to the next levels. There’s Plant Food to supercharge crops so they can battle it out with new creatures like zombie chickens. Some unlockable levels like Pyramid of Doom, Pirate’s Booty and Big Bad Butte to name a few, have also been added to the mix. Gamers also have to look for keys, collect coins and earn stars to get extra advantages in the title.
Plants vs. Zombies 2 can be downloaded through iTunes for free.
