The Philips W832 Xenium smartphone’s price is disclosed and it is touted to arrive bearing a high capacity battery and dual SIM support providing extended activity time for heavy phone users. The device is powered by the Ice Cream Sandwich platform and there’s no mention as yet whether or not it will be upgraded to Jelly Bean in the future.
As per the details provided by the company, the handsets supports two SIM cards through which owners will be able to access WCDMA and GSM networks simultaneously. The phone features a qHD 540 x 960p capacitive IPS display which measures 4.5 inches diagonally for visuals and navigation through the Android 4.0 OS. Powering up the phone is a dual core 1GHz processor, a MTK chipset according to GSMArena. Also fitted within its 11mm form factor is an 8MP rear-facing AF camera which can record videos in MPEG4, H.263 and H.264 formats at 30 or 24 frames per second. For hoarding content, users will have 4GB of built-in storage out of which 2048MB is accessible. There also a microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB.
Philips states that the W832 Xenium can deliver enhanced battery performance. The included 2400mAh one is capable of providing users with 11 hours of continuous talktime on WCDMA or 683 hours of standby on dual mode. It can even render up to 9 hours of web browsing on a single charge. To prolong the smartphone’s usage time, the company has thrown in a power-saving switch which disables Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth as well as dims the screen to conserve power, all at the tap of a button.
Release date details for the Philips W832 Xenium haven’t been disclosed as yet. However, after a long digging, we managed to get the official China cost. The device will retail for ¥2,799 and it will be available in silver as well as grey color options.
