Pentax has announced the launch of the new Optio W60 compact digital camera. The two key features of the camera are its ultra lightweight fully waterproof nature. The 10 megapixels camera is further equipped with 5X zoom lens with 28mm wide-angle capability.
Users can operate the camera up to 13 feet underwater for two hours and also at extreme temperatures below freezing.
Furthermore, the camera covers focal lengths from 5mm to 25mm, which allows users to capture a wide variety of scenes including landscapes, architecture and group photos, and close-up telephoto shots of subjects.
Other features of the Optio W60 are High-Quality Movie mode with HD resolution up to 1280 x 720 pixels, Auto Picture mode, fast Face Recognition, Smile Capture, Blink Detection, an Underwater Movie mode etc. The W60 camera’s High Sensitivity Digital SR mode adjusts the sensitivity up to ISO 6400 automatically.

The Pentax Optio W60 camera will be available in the US market by July 2008 at the price of $329.95. Buyers will get choice of two colors namely, Ocean Blue and Silver.
