Strikingly similar to the Star Q handset which got leaked a few days back, the Pantech Marauder Verizon boasts of a QWERTY keyboard and 4G LTE connectivity. Powered by the Android platform, the handset arrives with dual interfaces, namely the Starter Mode and the Standard Mode.
This Verizon-bound mobile phone is dressed with a slide-out QWERTY keypad for avid texters, while a virtual keyboard can also be accessed through the touchscreen. The Starter Mode proffering an intuitive experience with easy-to-learn features, is designed for users who are new to the OS. The Standard Mode on the other hand, is aimed towards those who are quite familiar with Google’s mobile platform. It sports up to 7 homescreens that are fully customizable along with a lockscreen which can be configured with links to frequently used applications for quick access.
On the specifications front, the device is equipped with a 1.2GHz dual core processor and 1GB RAM. Through the Mobile Hotspot feature, users will be able to share their 4G LTE connection with up to 10 Wi-Fi-enabled devices. Bluetooth 3.0 and DLNA connectivity are included as well. The 5MP camera affixed to the rear can capture stills and even record videos in HD resolution. A wide catalog of downloadable content is accessible through the Play store along with various mobile services such as Google Search and Maps, YouTube and Gmail.
The Pantech Marauder Verizon release date is scheduled for August 2, 2012. The handset is priced at $49.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and is accompanied by a new 2-year customer agreement.
