Panasonic P31 is a 5″ phone with a quad core processor priced at Rs 11,990

After a lot of teasing, the Panasonic P31 has finally gone official in India touting a 5-inch display, a quad core processor and the company’s own Play Life UI that’s designed to deliver a rich Android experience. The handset has arrived in the country carrying a price tag of Rs 11,990.

At that price range, the Panasonic P31 will be facing the heat from the ever-so-famous Moto G, the Canvas HD, the Karbonn Titanium S9 and the Canvas Turbo Mini A200. The smartphone in question looks pretty good and it resembles the Galaxy S3 to a certain extent. Hardware-wise, however, it does have a few disappointing components. The 5-inch display only has a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean runs the show, although being a bit outdated.

The Panasonic P31 still has some interesting features that are made available through the Play Life UI. With Gesture Play, you can carry out tasks such as unlock the phone and more by simply drawing a pattern, while Pop-i Player permits multitasking while watching videos. Then there’s Music café for organizing tracks and Ultimate Saver that flips between different battery modes to help conserve power.
