The latest announcement by Palm is that its Treo Pro smartphone is now available through TELUS in Canada.
The Treo Pro runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional with its high-resolution color touch screen and full web-browsing capabilities. It is apt for business users and consumers alike. Treo Pro offers TELUS customers with several features such as TELUS mobile email, TELUS Navigator, Wi-Fi, web and 3G network capabilities.
Sporting a thin design, it features an LCD touch screen, one-touch buttons and a full QWERTY keyboard. With this phone you can edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, access ZIP files and also view PowerPoint presentations and PDFs. It offers compatibility with System Center Mobile Device Manager 2008.
This 3G-capable smartphone from TELUS also bundles up dedicated email and calendar buttons for fast one-button access, ringer switch, one-touch Wi-Fi button, new voicemail indicator and screen saver that keeps you updated about the time, missed calls or new SMSs without the need to turn on the mobile phone.
It claims to offer increased productivity at lower costs. The business users can take advantage of its various features such as Microsoft Direct Push Technology, Microsoft System Center Mobile Device Manager 2008, Integrated GPS and Familiar Windows experience.
The Palm Treo Pro smartphone is said to be available through Telus Mobility for $550 without any contract, for $499 with a one year agreement while it will cost you about $399 with a two year contract.
