Oppo’s N1 mini offers a couple of great feautres, but is overpriced at Rs 26990

As expected, the Oppo N1 mini smartphone has been launched in India after much teasing. And we’re not at all surprised to see that the device will officially retail for Rs 26990 which is a bit cheaper than what we previously estimated.

The Oppo N1 mini is nothing more than a mid-range smartphone and it’s packed with components that are mostly found in devices that sell for under Rs 20000. Well, the handset is the smaller version of the original N1 which measures 5.9 inches wide and it sports the same swivel camera design. Still, just this attribute alone wouldn’t call for such a high retail price.

The company’s own Find 7a flagship is tagged at Rs 31990 which delivers top-tier specs for an additional Rs 4000, while the Nexus 5 would cost you a mere Rs 1000 more. For the aforementioned price, the N1 mini offers a 5-inch 720p HD IPS display and it runs on the Color OS which is a heavily customized version of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

The device also features the Ultra HD mode for snapping up 24MP images. On the inside, there’s a 1.6GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 processor doing the heavy lifting, while a 2140mAh battery gets things up and running.
