Oppo has decided to slash the cost of the F3 Plus and F3 in India for a limited period of time. The handsets are being sold at a Rs 6000 and Rs 1000 discount, respectively, on Flipkart for a day. There’s also an extra Rs 8000 and Rs 5000, correspondingly, added to each phone’s exchange value.
The price cut means that the F3 Plus is temporarily available at Rs 24990 and the F3 at Rs 18990. To recall, the smartphones initially hit the scene in March and May this year at Rs 30990 and Rs 19990, respectively. There’s no reason given for the new rate, but it’s possible the arrival of the F5 has prompted the brand to reconsider the cost of its older models.
The Oppo F5 is currently open for pre-orders and will hit availability on November 9. It starts at Rs 19990 for the 4GB/32GB model and goes up to Rs 24990 for the 6GB/64GB variant. The second will only go up for sale in December though. Perhaps the F3 and F3 Plus will get a more permanent drop in the time in-between.
The F3 Plus and F3 are most notable for carrying a unique 16MP + 8MP camera combination up front, something which its successor lacks. The first boasts of a 76.4-degree lens and the second a 120-degree wide-angle lens. As Oppo puts it, the former can be used to click solo selfies, while the latter is ideal for group selfies requiring a wider field-of-view.
