In China, Oppo has launched a new mid-range smartphone in the form of the A53 which is highlighted by its sleek metal form factor. What’s disappointing is that its price has been kept a secret for now, and same is the case with its release date and details regarding its launch in other nations.
The Oppo A53 is a dual SIM 4G LTE offering which ships with a 5.5-inch 720p HD display that’s covered with 2.5D curved glass. Qualcomm’s newly launched Snapdragon 616 chipset is at its heart, offering the benefits of a 1.5GHz octa core processor and an Adreno 405 GPU.
This setup is assisted in its operations by 2GB worth of RAM as well. As for the storage space, Oppo has blessed the device with a 16GB ROM and a microSD card slot. This phone moreover, runs the company’s very own Color OS 2.1 software which is based on the 5.1 Lollipop version of Android. There seems to be no mention of a possible Marshmallow update in the future.
The A53 has been granted a Samsung-made 13MP ISOCELL rear camera and a 5MP selfie unit. Its battery pack happens to be a 3075mAh unit which comes with support for fast charging.
