The Oplus XonPhone 5 is a smartphone which Indian consumers can now buy at a price of Rs 7999. The Taiwanese company which is known for its XonPad 7 tablet will be selling this Android KitKat-equipped smartphone only through Snapdeal.
This is yet another display of the recent Indian trend of selling products exclusively through certain e-retailers. One of the prime reasons why manufacturers take this approach is that it greatly reduces operating costs and this in turn, allows them to price the devices lower than usual.
At Rs 7999, the Oplus XonPhone 5 will be providing you with a quad core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.3GHz. It features a 5-inch display with HD resolution, which brings its pixel density count to 320ppi. It runs the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS and features dual SIM capabilities.
An 8MP camera (with LED flash) has been placed on the XonPhone 5’s rear surface, while its front kicks in a 2MP snapper. 1GB of RAM forms part of its offerings as well, apart from 16GB of storage which can be expanded up to 32GB by means of its microSD card slot.
