OnePlus One heads to more European markets, new hardware coming next month

The OnePlus One has been available across Europe since its launch last year, but not all countries were part of the flagship killer’s availability list. Well, the company has announced that potential customers in all regions will soon be able to get their hands on the smartphone. What’s more, the Chinese giant will be launching some new hardware next month.

The announcement of the OnePlus One expanding to all European countries was posted on the official forums. The company notes that events will be held in several locations to celebrate the phone’s launch. The complete list of new markets and event schedule has been posted on the thread, if you’re interested in the details.

OnePlus has already disclosed that it’s working on a successor to its flagship killer device. And we know that the handset is expected to surface sometime during Q2 or Q3 of 2015. So will the new hardware scheduled for launch next month be a new smartphone? The answer is no and don’t expect to see a tablet or a smartwatch either.

Carl Pei, Global Director of OnePlus, revealed to GSMArena the existence of a new device, but didn’t mention what it really is. He did, however, note that it isn’t going to be a smartwatch or a tablet. The company has already designed its own earphones and also a power back, so it’s highly possible that it’ll stick to making accessories. We could see a new pair of cans, a gaming controller to go with the One handset, stereo speakers or even a fitness device.

OnePlus One specs overview:

– Android 4.4.4 KitKat (upgradable to Lollipop)
– 2.5GHz quad core Snapdragon 801 SOC
– 3GB RAM, 16GB/64GB storage options
– 5MP front camera, 13MP rear shooter
– 5.5-inch 1080p FHD Gorilla Glass 3 display
– 3100mAh battery

The OnePlus One is still a very attractive smartphone for its price and you can expect it to be available for the same €269 and up across all locations in Europe.
