The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition has raced its way into India with a steep price tag and bumped-up specs. The phone is going to be sold via Amazon India and the brand’s site starting from December 15. A special sale is set to be held on December 13 at a new OnePlus Experience Store in Connaught Place, New Delhi.
You’ll have to cough up Rs 50999 for the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition. Just to compare, the regular OnePlus 6T starts at Rs 37999 for its 6GB/128GB version and ends at Rs 45999 for its 8GB/256GB one. The company is justifying the Rs 5000 price bump by tossing a few new features into the ring.
OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition: What’s New?
The most notable one is an impressive 10GB of RAM combined with 256GB of storage. Whether that much RAM is even required in a phone is debatable, but it’s certainly not going to hurt multitasking and gaming activities. Another big attraction is the 30W Warp Charge fast charging technology.
Having a 30W charger apparently allows the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition to go from 0 to 50% within 20 minutes, appropriate for a racing-themed smartphone. Then there are the aesthetic changes – a Papaya Orange line along the sides and bottom of the handset, a McLaren symbol at the back, and exclusive animations and wallpaper.

There are also a couple of goodies in the box like a Speedmark McLaren logo made out of F1 AA-grade carbon fiber and a book highlighting the history of OnePlus and McLaren. There’s even a Papaya Orange braided USB Type-C cable to complete the set.

OnePlus has announced a couple of deals to go along with the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition, as well as the other OnePlus 6T models. Starting from December 15 till December 24, buyers can get Rs 1500 as cashback via Axis Bank credit/debit cards, Rs 2000 as cashback on Axis Bank EMI transactions, and an extra Rs 3000 off on exchange of a OnePlus device.
