OnePlus is looking to gain the attention of the student crowd by offering a 10% discount on the OnePlus 5. It’s also begun rolling out OxygenOS 4.5.10 for the handset.
Starting off with the cut, it’s part of a new OnePlus Student Program. The 10% off is actually valid on one order, so a person could apply it to the OnePlus 5 and other accessories/handsets they might interested in. However, only 1 unit of the flagship phone will be eligible for the markdown per order.
To get started, a person will first to have to prove that they’re a student by heading to OnePlus’ site and logging into their Student Beans account. If they’re not a member of the latter, they’ll have to sign up for it by tapping on ‘Log in now’ and then hitting Register on the page that follows.

Once this has been over and done with, students will get their 10% off coupon. It’ll be valid for a month after it’s been redeemed. A new coupon is supposed to be issued every year though, so you can get 10% off on an annual basis.
OnePlus’ Student Program is only valid in the UK, the US, Sweden, the Netherlands, Finland, Belgium, Spain, Austria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Germany, Slovenia, Poland, France, Italy, Portugal, Canada, Hungary, and Denmark. There’s no word on whether it’ll be expanding to other countries anytime soon.
As for OxygenOS 4.5.10, the update is supposed to improve the OnePlus 5’s camera stability, reduce noise, add the country data of photographers in Shot on OnePlus, upgrade Wi-Fi stability, and enhance Jio call functionality. It also fixes a display issue with the calling screen and a scrolling problem with Play Music.
OxygenOS 4.5.10 is following an incremental rollout schedule, so it’ll hit a small number of OnePlus 5 owners first before going wide-scale. You can sign up for the company’s Student Program here.
