OnePlus is expected to launch an update to its current flagship called the OnePlus 3T sometime this year. As it turns out, it may not be the only handset the brand has cooking in the works.
A new Weibo post suggests that OnePlus is going to launch the OnePlus 4 in June or July next year. That name isn’t completely certain of course, though it will likely be called that. The brand is apparently going to power the phone using a Snapdragon 830 processor.
Qualcomm is yet to release or even name its next top-of-the-line processor. Samsung was supposedly roped in to exclusively manufacture the Snapdragon 830 chipsets using the 10nm process with an eye on blessing the Galaxy S8 with its prowess.

However, Samsung is said to be behind schedule when it comes to manufacturing the CPU. As a result, Qualcomm may have switched loyalties to TSMC. The latter is yet to mass produce CPUs with the faster 10nm process as yet, leading to rumors that it’s product might not be as power efficient as Samsung’s would have been.
In any case, talk about the OnePlus 4 right now should be taken with a pinch of salt since it’s too early to tell what could be accurate. The June/July date is an easy assumption to make since the OnePlus 3 came out in June 2016. Likewise, the latter handset sports a Snapdragon 820 chipset, making the leap to Snapdragon 830 possibly the result of guesswork rather than actual proof.
Speculation so far suggests that the OnePlus 4 could arrive furnished with a 4000mAh battery, Adreno 620 GPU, and Android 7.0 Nougat. We’ll keep you updated regarding any details about the handset in the coming days.
